Where are classes held?

Our classes are 100% online and held in the Doyobi Metaverse. An invitation link will be sent to the email address provided to us during enrolment.

What is the Doyobi Metaverse, is it safe?

The Doyobi metaverse is a safe, virtual space where learners meet and interact through text, voice and video. It is specially designed by our team to incorporate engaging quests that learners collaborate on together, maximising both learning and fun at the same time! All interactions on the metaverse are facilitated by our in-house instructors and access to the space is restricted to only learners and instructors.

What language will the sessions be conducted in?

We’ll be communicating in English!

What is the format of the sessions?

The sessions are held online once a week for 1.5 hours. Each class will be conducted by a facilitator and a supporting facilitator

How old does my child have to be in order to be suitable for these sessions?

The sessions are designed for learners ages 8-13 years old. For an optimum class experience, we group the classes as follows: 8-10 years old, or 11-13 years old.

How many students are there in a class?

While class size varies according to age group, we typically maintain a class size of up to 18 students.

We understand parents are excited about the metaverse as well! We are happy to have you observe from your child’s screen. However, we strongly urge parents to allow their kids the freedom to interact freely, explore and independently think of how they can overcome the challenges we present to them and their peers. Kindly refrain from joining the class as a separate individual.

What equipment is needed?

Learners would simply require a laptop or desktop and a stable internet connection. No VR headset is required for our expedition to the metaverse!

Who will be teaching these sessions?

Our team of learning experience designers have been dedicated to delivering fun and interactive learning experiences in the classroom for 10 years. We’re not your regular teachers – we’re partners in your child’s learning journey, celebrating the big leaps and guiding them through hardships that they may encounter along the way!

What will my kids learn?

Each Quest is designed to maximise the learning and application of these 6 key skills
• Critical Thinking
• Communication
• CollaborationCreativity
• Citizenship
• Confidence

These are transferable skills that will benefit a child anywhere they live, learn or play! Our facilitators provide a supportive environment for kids to explore, discover and practise these skills, which can’t be learnt in any textbooks!

What if I can’t make a class?

Let our friendly facilitators know at least a week in advance and we will offer an alternative time slot!

We seek your understanding that this is subject to vacancies, as our class sizes are optimised to ensure each child has a positive learning experience.

Alternatively, we can discuss other arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Please write to hello@doyobi.com with your child's name and cohort details.

What are your fees?

Our fees are US$90/month. Classes are once a week.

That's just US$22.50 for each 90 min lesson.

However, if you or your child decide it isn't the right fit, let us know by writing in to hello@doyobi.com.

A full refund of the first month's fee will be given if your request is submitted within the first month of your subscription.

Can I request to be billed in a different currency?

At the moment, we regret that we are unable to accede to requests for billing in other currencies.

How can I pay for my subscription?

We accept payments via credit card through our website. The payments are processed by Stripe.

How does subscription billing work?

+

The billing cycle starts on the day of the first class after the trial period (e.g. for a 4-week trial, the billing cycle starts on the day of the lesson in week 5). Your card will be charged on the same day every month.

Can I cancel the subscription anytime?

You can cancel the subscription anytime. Your subscription will end at the end of the current billing cycle (e.g. if your billing cycle starts on the 8th of every month and you cancel on 25th March, your subscription will end on 7th April.)
We seek your understanding that we require at least one business day to process your termination request.
